Community School Steering Committee


What is the Community School Steering Committee (CSSC)?

The CSSC is a cross-section of community stakeholders, parents, school staff, youth, funders, advocates, and policy makers who will oversee the progress, effectiveness, and evaluation of Community Schools. The CSSC will also work on developing school partners and resolving conflicts.

Community School Steering Committee Members 2017-2019

The term of office for the 15-member CSSC shall be three years and members shall serve no more than two terms.

Vacant Seats:

The Community Schools Steering Committee (CSSC) is seeking applicants to fill three vacancies. As a CSSC member, you can make a difference in the lives of the children and communities you care about in Baltimore City. The vision of the CSSC is to empower Baltimore through a sustainable city-wide network of community schools that support the needs of the whole child and their family, and demonstrate measurable positive outcomes for the community. The CSSC is currently looking to fill the following representative seats:

  • One Parent (must have a child currently enrolled in a Community School)
  • Two Students ( at least one student must currently be enrolled in a Community School)

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. Positions are open until filled. Applications instructions are included in the application document.
