Councilman Brandon M. Scott, ACLU’s Bebe Verdery among community luminaries
to be honored at Family League 2018 Annual Meeting and Celebration

Org to mark Transformation, recognize importance of community-based approach to its work

BALTIMORE – October 8, 2018 – Family League of Baltimore (Family League) today announced it will honor the work of four community standouts at Transformation: Our Children. Our Families. Our Work., its 2018 Annual Meeting and Celebration. The event, scheduled for Thursday, November 8th, will reflect on a year of change in the organization and in the lives of the people it serves. Transformation will be hosted at the Maryland Historical Society, 201 W. Monument Street, kicking off with a reception at 6 pm and followed by a review of the organization’s accomplishments and vision at 7 pm. Each year, Family League selects awardees in Baltimore City who demonstrate outstanding dedication to Baltimore City’s children and families and reflect its mission and core values.

This year’s honorees included:

  • President’s Award: Tina Hike-Hubbard, Director of Education for the Mid-Atlantic Market, Enterprise Community Partners
  • Civic Leadership Award: The Honorable Brandon M. Scott, Councilman 2nd District, City of Baltimore
  • Champion for Change: Bebe Verdery, Director of ACLU of Maryland’s Education Reform Project
  • Community Partnership Award: The Movement Team

The organization also recognizes a youth and a youth group who have demonstrated exceptional leadership through service. Those recipients will be announced on the night of the event. Click here to view full press release.
