Family League of Baltimore Celebrates 25 Years of Supporting and Investing in
Baltimore’s Children, Families, and Communities
Honoring Our Past…Forging a New Future for an Equitable Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD—Family League of Baltimore this week is marking its first 25 years as a catalyst for community-directed investments in the lives and futures of Baltimore’s children, who need and deserve opportunities to grow up safe, healthy, and successful.

Since 1991, Family League has mobilized resources, empowered communities, and built the capacity of organizations to provide children and families with high quality programs and services that help them reach their full potential at every age. Our goal is that by 2030, all children in Baltimore will be born healthy, succeed academically, graduate high school and transition into higher education and the workforce.

Family League funds roughly 70 community-based organizations to do this work, and uses data to effectively measure outcomes. In 2015, the organization granted more than $13 million to organizations to help create lasting outcomes for children and youth, including support for home visits to at-risk mothers; community schools that enhance student performance and parental engagement; out-of-school time enrichment programs for youths of all ages; and meals and snacks for children without secure access to daily nutrition.
