Planning Grants to Improve School Climate – SY16-17

Overview:  Family League of Baltimore is providing a small challenge grant opportunity to assist Baltimore City Public middle and high schools in improving school climate. Through these grants, we hope to support innovative approaches to inform the work of the Baltimore School Climate Collaborative, Family League, and the Positive Schools Center.

Grant Awards:  Up to $1,000 will be awarded for planning purposes in SY16-17.  Based on the applications and the action plans received, applicants may receive up to $9,000 to implement the action plans for SY17-18. (Not all planning grant recipients are guaranteed to receive implementation grants.)

Grant Uses: Successful applicants will spend January 2017-June 2017 building and/or strengthening their school climate team, conducting a climate walk, and analyzing their school’s climate data to identify an area of school climate they would like to focus on and improve. Applicants are expected to complete an action plan informed by these activities by the end of June 2017.
