DEMAUNE A. MILLARD

President & CEO

Demaune A. Millard was appointed the 5th President & CEO of Family League of Baltimore by its Board of Directors in April 2018. He leads and manages Family League’s $22 million operations, the largest local management board in the state of Maryland. Prior to his elevation to the role of President, Demaune served for over two years as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer and assumed the role of Interim CEO in July 2017.

 

In addition to his core responsibilities, Demaune also serves on the cabinet of the Honorable Brandon M. Scott, Mayor of the City of Baltimore, and is a member of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s (GBC) Presidential Advisory Council and the Johns Hopkins University Center on Adolescent Health Community Advisory Board. He chairs GBC’s Education and Workforce Committee and serves as Co-Chair of Baltimore City’s Community Schools Steering Committee. Millard formerly served on the United Way of Central Maryland’s Community Partnership Board and Baltimore City Department of Recreation & Parks #REC2025 Steering Committee.

Nancy Blackwell

Chair

Nancy Blackwell currently serves as Chair of Family League’s Board of Directors. Blackwell is a passionate child welfare professional with more than 20 years in human services for social and public policy driven organizations in Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington, DC. Her areas of focus include child welfare, early childhood development, faith-based policy, workforce development and family homelessness. Nancy is a leader in Health and Public Sector at Accenture, LLP where she provides support to Child Welfare Team and the DMV Team. Nancy has also worked for the National Association of Foster Care Children of America, DC Child and Family Services Agency, the Maryland Interfaith Legislative Committee, and the Maryland Department of Human Services. Nancy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language and Political Science from Mount Saint Mary’s, and a Masters Degree in Jurisprudence from the Pearson School of Law at Loyola University in Chicago. She is married to a social work entrepreneur, Mike Allen, and has two children, and two grandchildren.
